Book of the Month, Dracula by Bram Stoker.

Join us October 2 for our Book of the Month, Dracula by Bram Stoker.

Available as a free download from Amazon, and a wonderful full-cast audio narration from many libraries. Perhaps you first read this in high school, or even if this is your first time, I think you will find yourself being totally drawn into the suspense of the novel.

Sometimes Classics can be hard to rate, but Dracula reads just as well for modern audiences. The story is told through a series of letters and diary entries, and occasional newspaper clippings which all add to the suspense and the depth of the story as we receive multiple points of view. Also so many of Stoker's ideas regarding "modern" vampires are still in use today which is also a testament to the longevity of this novel.

Book of the Month: My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand

Starting September 22 is our Book of the Month, My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand

The comical, fantastical, romantical, (not) entirely true story of Lady Jane Grey. In My Lady Jane, coauthors Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows have created a one-of-a-kind fantasy in the tradition of The Princess Bride, featuring a reluctant king, an even more reluctant queen, a noble steed, and only a passing resemblance to actual history—because sometimes history needs a little help.

Book of the Month: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms by George R.R. Martin.

Starting September 12 is our Book of the Month, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms by George R.R. Martin.

Taking place nearly a century before the events of A Game of Thrones, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms compiles the first three official prequel novellas to George R. R. Martin’s ongoing masterwork, A Song of Ice and Fire. These never-before-collected adventures recount an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living consciousness.
